Golf Sessions (ParaGolfer)
With specialist equipment and coaches, more disabled people can enjoy the benefits that golf has to offer.

Hi, my name is Ross Millar and I’m a PGA Golf Coach & Personal Trainer for DR Inclusive Fitness. Sport in general has been a passion of mine since a young age but as I grew older, it became apparent golf was by far my favourite!

Playing for my county as a junior golfer allowed me to receive some fantastic coaching from different golf coaches in the area, which gave me the drive to be like them – “what a job”! Golfing at this level also gave me awareness of the importance of fitness and how much this could improve/influence performance.
I studied Professional Golf Studies at the University of Birmingham which allowed me to join the Professional Golfers’ Association as a full member in 2016. Since then I’ve built up a wealth of experience, coaching a wide variety of golfers in different stages of their own golfing journey.
In that time, I’ve seen the benefits of golf, not only for myself, but also that of my friends, family and clients.
However, it also opened my eyes to the challenges surrounding accessibility of the sport. After volunteering my time to help with the Battleback campaign where I helped coach golf to an amputee who had been serving in Afghanistan, I began to realise how challenging the sport physically can be to those with a physical disability. My brother in law Craig who has cerebral palsy has always wanted to try golf too but with his condition and without specialist equipment, it would be almost impossible.
In 2022, I joined the team as a personal trainer and gained my Level 2 Gym Instructor & Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification. Since then, I’ve built up a fantastic client base and I thoroughly enjoy working with them. I take pride in seeing them work towards and achieve a wide variety of goals through adapting equipment and exercises to suit their needs.
This sparked the idea;
“If we can adapt fitness sessions for our clients, why not golf sessions?“
I’m absolutely delighted to be the golf coach here at DR Inclusive Fitness in our new adapted golf facility. A space where we have the specialist equipment to allow almost anyone the chance to try, practice and play golf!
